Following a visit made to Chicago on 1st and 2nd May 2006 the following changes have been noted to motive power allocations. These changes have been brought about by the introduction of expanded services since the end of January 2006.

Notes:-
1) It has not been possible to verify all of the above, however this is believed to be the current position.
2) Heritage Corridor motive power has been serviced from Western Avenue depot since January 2006. This means that locomotives operating on Heritage Corridor service have to be turned as all Metra services operate with the locomotive at the country end of the coaching stock. This should make Heritage Corridor locomotives easy to identify when they are on Western Avenue depot.
3) South West Service shares locomotives with BNSF as stock is provided by BNSF’s 14th Street depot. The four locomotives shown as the sole motive power have recently been supplemented by a fifth from the general BNSF pool and not the shared pool.
